Notes/Commercial Description:
The generous addition of hops both during and at the end of the fermentation process (dry-hopping) gives our India Pale Ale its characteristic bitterness and piney citrus aroma and flavor. The medium body, crisp finish, and moderate alcohol and IBU levels makes this one of America’s most drinkable and best-selling IPAs.

A: Definitely a weak spot for this beer: it pours a clear, light amber leaning towards yellow with lots of light bubbles. It's clearly not a AAL, but the filtration and clarity are far from many of my favorite IPAs.

S: The can bursts open with a big punch of pine and citrus. It fades, though, becoming softer and sweeter.

T: Crisp citrus-pine hop notes lead, but they're modest, over a slightly sweet, bready malt background. Pretty well balanced and crisp, but fairly subdued.

M: Fairly light body, without any of the chewiness of some bigger IPAs, but a very nice level of carbonation keeps this a pleasant drinker.

O: Fairly middle-of-the-road, and not something I seek out, but it's pleasant enough and good in a bind. The cans make it a bit more versatile and make the aroma much more indulgent than I've ever experienced with Long Hammer on-tap or from a bottle.

12oz into pint

Look is a yellow-gold with a small white head. Smell is oily pine, white bread. Taste is bitter one-note piney hops with some light bready malt. Feel is a medium but a tad over-carbonated.

Very average IPA that is more like a regular pale with some additional hopping. Not very impressive but good for the price. Cheaper than most other IPAs.

A - Pours a clear light golden colour, finger of head with little retention and no real lacing.

S - Scent is a tad mild, but dominated by sweet citrus hop notes a touch of pine and cotton candy on the finish.

T - A decent hop profile, though is more mellow, with some earthy citrus tones balanced out with a bready caramel malt profile.

M - Medium bodies, smooth and a touch of dryness on the finish.

I - A decent IPA that is nicely balanced and easily sessioned, but could certainly use a boost to kick it into the next level.

Kind of light for an IPA I think. A very light amber with an aveage size head. Fast fading.
Aroma is light, but there are hints of hops and malts, why one can almost pull out some citrus hops.
Flavor while not bad is rather thin. You can pull out some citrus hops and some bready malts but there real light. A bitter ending.
To me drinks more like a pale ale. It.s light and thin on the palette.
Bought up in lake Placid were my options were limited. And since I'm a reviewer I picked up this variety pack at the local market.
This is a good average beer no frills. I'd be happy to drink this at any one of those chain restarunts.

Appearance: A yellow/pale amber color. Pours with a pretty nice head, but it goes away after a couple minutes. There's little to no lacing.

Smell: Hardly there. Maybe some hoppiness or sweetness, but it's hard to detect much of anything.

Taste: Like the smell, hard to get much out of it. As an IPA, it's a pretty big disappointment, but if you just look at it as a BEER, it's mediocre. Slight hoppiness with minor bitterness. Bits of malt. It's really just light.

Mouthfeel: Decent carbonation, but with the lack of taste, it's sort of watery, really.

Everything about this beer is light. The appearance, smell, taste... like I said, it's not a bad beer or anything, but it sure isn't much of an IPA. If you're used to BMC's, you'll probably like this one, as it doesn't have much taste to speak of. I wouldn't be opposed to drinking another one of these, but I probably won't seek it out again.
