Pours a nice 1 finger head with very good retnetion and a dark brown color.
Smell is of some dark malts, it is faint though. There is a hint of a coffe like smell as the beer warms. Dark Malts dominate the nose.
Dark malts dominate the nose. It seems to be black patent that is prevalent. A little bit of esters come out as the beer warms. The dark malts are balanced by a nice hop bitterness and flavor, but I want more caramel malt sweetness.
Decent mouthfel, clings well to the palate with a decent amount of body.
This is a simple porter that I could session. Not bad at all.
