Notes/Commercial Description:
This beer is retired; no longer brewed.

Czech out Redhook’s newest brew. Redhook Pilsner is crisp, golden lager that is modeled after those historic beers originally made in Plzeň, Czechoslovakia. Redhook Pilsner’s maltiness is offset by a medium dose of Saaz hops and finishes with a clean, bright, thirst-quenching quality. A great “session” lager for when you’ve got a long day ahead of drinking.

12oz bottle with no date, taken from the red hook sampler pack

look is a clear golden yellow-orange, with a small 3mm head. smell is all dusty grain and faraway skunky hops. taste is more sweet than the nose lets on, with none of te hops. sickly sweet buttered toast and plastic-y flat presence of hops. feel is slick and syrupy.

not a fan of this one, too sweet and with flat tasting hops. probably the least refreshing pilsner I've ever had.

Finger of head with descent retention. Medium straw colored body.
A nice grain smell with a note of honey.
Taste has a little fresh fruit, light grain, and moderate bitterness. Not the best balance, but still good.
Crisp and clean texture. Moderate carbonation and a lighter body.
A solid pilsner.

Redhook Pilsner

Pours a perfectly clear bright gold with a soapy white head that laces the glass. Aroma of crisp, crackery bread and herbal pungent Saaz hops. In the taste, more bready notes and some hop bitterness. Finishes slightly bitter but mostly very clean and crisp. Light bodied feel with sharp carbonation. Overall, this is a pretty solid pilsner, nice and refreshing.

Bomber into standard pint.

A: perfectly clear straw color with a half inch of head that fell into a little cap with a pencil thin ring.

S: spicy noble hops and pale malt. Slightly sweet smelling. Hints of citrus.

T: a little floral, enticing herbal notes, a bit of malt to bring it all together. a crisp brew.

M: light and crisp with a bit of carbonation. not lying when they say it is refreshing.

O: not a bad brew. I am not a czech pilsner enthusiest but it is not bad based on my experience with the style.

Poured from 12oz bottle into pilsner glass.

Appearance: Bright, clear golden color with a substantial white head that hardly dissipates at all and doesn't really leave any lace when it does.

Smell: Sweet and bready pilsner maltiness alongside hints of lemon and flowers. Some grassiness and mild herbal aromas.

Taste: Begins with some citric sweetness and mild citrus peel bitterness, which rounds out to pale malt sweetness before finishing with a balanced herbal bitterness that has a slight spice to it.

Mouthfeel: Lighter body with lively carbonation and a crisp finish.

Overall: A good representation of its style and an easy-drinking beer. Worth a try.

Pours a crystal clear light golden color with a desent size head that lingers for guite a while. Carbonation is lighter then normal.

Aroma finds a good pils bouquet of bready malts and spicy hops.

Taste is quite good with a solid malt bill that has a clean taste and hops that have a spicy, grassy taste. Both linger into the aftertaste.

Feels thin and spicy on the palette with a slightly bitter and sharp finish.

Overall it's good and refreshing.
