I was surprised to see this in the cooler at the beer store. I don't normally break up a sixer to try a beer, but I thought I'd do it just this once.
The label is understated, kind of boring, but the his of the cap, the beer pours, and its time to move on. There isn't much head, and it fizzes away like a soda. The aroma, though having a hint of rye, is very subtle. Its an attractive golden color, and sunrye is an apt description. It has a surprising lager look to it. After the haze clears, you can see right through it. The taste is also suble, maybe muted. Its certainly less pronounced in its rye flavors than others I've had. The feeling that maybe what's happened to Henry's may be happing to Redhook crosses my mind. I panic, take another sip, and think maybe its not as bad as I fear. Its got a fairly full malt aftertaste, and leaves you wanting for another drink. We'll have to give it another chance.

The pour was a clear light amber with just a trace (almost none) of a white frizzy head that virtually was gone in a second or two and produced no lacing to speak of.
The aroma was very faint of a light grain malt, a faint odor of some grassy hops and a mild earthy yeast with a hint of rye and maybe a little citrus (lemon).
Taste was pretty bland yet quite crisp with a slight malty feel and a mild hint of rye, but not much else. The flavor faded from the taste buds almost immediately following the swallow.
Mouthfeel was extremely light in body with a watery texture and a light carbonation.
Overall this was a extremely light beer with a very light flavor and a mild carbonation. That being said it did possess a good smooth and easy drinkability and is ok if what your looking for, is a light beer with a low ABV…
