Consumed on Thanksgiving Day, 2012 at the brewpub in Pacific Beach, CA. Reviewed from notes.
Beer is presented in a pilsener glass (???) - a clear golden hue with nice carbonation. Frothy white head with excellent sheeting.
A little skunky smelling - Simcoe hops? Also, traces of pepper and onion. Maybe Summit or Columbus hops? Faint whiff of light malt as well.
Flavor is much like nose. A trace of caramel malt at the beginning, mild peppery spice and a piney flavor at the end. Low to moderate bitterness.
Slightly thick and dry on the tongue.
Perfectly fine IPA but nothing to go out of your way to try.
Serving type: on-tap
