I added this place to the beerfly not so much for their beer selection, but for their food and philosophy. The Craftsman is one of the new restaurants (also Spoonriver, Heartland, etc) that make it a point to cook local food and buy local as much as possible. This I can appreciate, even more so since the food is really fantastic. I had some very tasty pork rillets for an appetizer and a nice beef brisket sandwich with blue cheese. All great for this price range. The beer menu also reflects their eat and drink local philosophy with Flat Earth, Surly, Bell's, and South Shore beers on tap currently (09/12/08) and 16 mostly local bottles. Not the widest variety of beer, but a good selection to pair with the food. It is often difficult to find top-notch food at a place with more than 2 or 3 beers (have fun trying to get much for beer at places like Vincent or La Belle Vie) which is why I'll go back to The Craftsman again (then head over to the Muddy Pig for more beer...)!
