Appearance: This beer pours dark brownish black (almost a mahogany tint to it). Very little head or carbonation...what head there is, is slight and dissipates quickly. Little to no lacing left on the glass.
Smell: WOW! Bourbon, chocolate, some dried dark fruit...raisin, noticeable oak in the background.
Taste: Man's Beer! At 12.5% abv. and aged in bourbon barrels you can definitely taste the alcohol burn. Again some raisin and oak...but mostly dark malt and bourbon is what I am getting from this.
Mouthfeel / Body: Considering all that's going on with this beer, the mouthfeel on this is fairly clean. Light to medium body, again...very little carbonation. Coats your pallet quickly and then clears away leaving the heavier flavors behind.
Drinkability: This beer is very drinkable...for some beer drinkers. Not for the faint of heart...will probably do better with some more age in the bottle.
Serving type: bottle
