The Beers of California
Freshness Date: None
A: Hazy peach orange with hues of copper and yellow. A generous white head appears after pouring the brew into a snifter. The head sticks around for a bit, fading to a generous lace on the glass.
S: Grainy along with some fresh bread. Some banana and even faint notes of citrus and peach along with a bit of peppery zing.
T: Grainy, powdery malt up front that also has some notes of toasted bread. Spice throughout which brings into mind cloves and black pepper. Ripe banana and some faint eastery apricot and peach sweetness. Some interesting grass, flowery, and even faintly citrus hop notes which adds a nice depth.
M: This brew has a great smoothness and chewiness which really pairs well with the malt notes with just enough lively carbonation to keep things interesting.
O: A brew in the vein of abbey ales with a nice California twist. As I drink this brew I imagine what life would be like living as a monk: simple, peaceful. and serene. This beer is all about the bringing a piece of monastery life to busy California.
