Poured into a Chimay goblet. 1/2 finger, off-white head that fades quickly. Hazy, dark amber in color.
Smell was fruity, earthy, hints of raisin and spices. Nice smell of cherries, brett funk and sweetness.
Taste had a nice maltiness up front with a very mild bitter finish. Notes of caramel, honey and cherries were all present. Nice funkiness and acidity in taste.. the Brett made itself known in a nice subtle way. Hints of some roasted malts as well.
Mouthfeel had low carbonation and a slightly sticky body.
Drinkability was good. Sticky but a pretty good balance, especially at 10%.
Overall this was a nice offering. I was pleasantly surprised by the funkiness from the Brett as I didn't know this beer had any it until after. Has a nice complexity of flavors.
