22oz bottle shared by Grant at the Brickstore, Atlanta.
A - Pours a dark, slightly murky ruby/amber with a minimal white head. Not much lacing.
S - Interesting. My co-worker immediately picks up chocolate notes and I agree. Dark fruits (raisins, plums, dates) upon second whiff. Minimal funk.
T - Dark fruits take center stage (raisins & figs), followed by chocolate notes and a tarty funk in the finsih. Not sour, per se, just a mild tartness.
M - Lighter body, dry finish yet with well defined carbonation.
D - Not bad. I did enjoy my pour but it's not something I'd actively seek out, especially if it commands a high price.
Overall - A good brew, but nothing spectacular. The tartness was nice, but felt myself wanting more. I don't see it getting any better, so drink up if you've got one.

Thanks to GRG1313 for sharing this one at his tasting.
Pours a clear reddish-brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is slightly sour with malt, earth, fruit, spice, and wood aromas. Taste is much the same with sour malt, fruit, spice, earth, and wood flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and dry mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that has a nice mix of sour and spice qualities that I am getting.

Cloudy copper colored sort of Consecration-like.
A little Brett funk and bready Belgian style yeast in the nose.
Smooth, well balanced. Sort of like a Quad with tobacco.

From 04/14/12 notes. Had this one at the DC Lambic & Sour Tasting as part of a full Veritas set, 001-010.
a - Pours a dark murky brown color with light carbonation evident and one inch of off white head.
s - Smells a bit weird, of manure, earthy notes, grapes, musty, some roasted malts. Very weird mix, doesn't do it for me.
t - Tastes of eartyh notes, light roasted malts, light chocolate, boozey, musty, bourbon. Better than the nose as there is no manure, but not great.
m - Medium body and low carbonation. Pretty smooth and easy to drink. Light alcohol.
o - Overall I thought this was by far the worst of the Veritas series. Not sure how it was fresh but it has not aged very well, as it seems a bit old and there was some weird earthy/manure notes in the taste. Wouldn't seek it out again.

Consumed with all ten Veritas beers on April 14, 2012.
The beer is murky and brown with a small, broken head. The aroma offers alcohol, oddities, oak, wine, dark fruits. The flavor is not up to par with the rest of the Veritas series. Boozy, sweet, harsh. Out of balance. Tannic and biting, with overly ripened fruit soaked in booze. My least favorite of the bunch. I am a big fan of The Lost Abbey, but this one missed the mark, especially considering the company in which it was consumed.

Served along side of the other 9 Veritas. While I finished this one, it was in the bottom 1/3 of the group in my opinion. Probably #3 from the bottom (behind V009 and V008). Served in a Lost Abbey Teku glass. Even that awesome glass couldn't make this taste better.
Beer is brown and hazy with a lazy head, small bubbles, low retention, no lacing, moderate to low carbonation.
Aroma is strong, alcohol, raisin, acetic, solvent, sour. Smells OK.
Very oaky, very boozy, strong tannic bitterness on the back, sweet chocolate something up front, it is OK but I'm having a hard time powering through them. LIke I said, there were much much better beers in this line up than this one, I don't think I'll have it again.
