Convicted of a dark art, the crowd will gather to watch as they raze your earthen existence. An intolerable pain is the cross you’ll bear that day as you are removed from this righteous world. No one will summon the courage to save you in fear of their life. It sucks. But such is the life of a witch. In honor of your fleeting existence, we brewed Witch’s Wit. A light and refreshing wheat beer, it’s exactly the sort of thing you might expect to find being passed around the center of town on witch burning day. Say hello to the Prince of Darkness for us.

Witch's Wit pours a very pale gold color. It's surprisingly clear. There's not a bit of haze at all. Perhaps that'll change on the second pour. EDIT: There is a little cloudiness in the second glass, but not enough to trigger a bump in score. A forceful pour yielded a white head that didn't quite stand a finger tall. It was quick to dissipate and left very light lacing on the glass. Eh...it's alright.
The nose isn't really out of line for a Witbier, but it is weak and a little disappointing. It's grainy and earthy throughout. There's a spicy aroma, but it needs more strength. Clove is the most pronounced, but there's some pepper and orange peel backing it up. There's a light, sweet fruity scent. It smells mostly like lemon. Once again, it's faint and could use more strength. There's may be some ancillary fruit elements here, but this nose isn't picking them up. Overall, it's above average for the style, but needs some work.
The flavor is better. I'm waffling on whether it's enough to bump the score. I'll hold that call for a few. It's grainy and earthy from the first sip to the finish. There's an interesting sweet honey flavor here. I didn't pick that up in the nose, but it's here. Spices are effective and have a nice flavor. There's a mix of clove, coriander, and pepper hogging the spotlight. Tastes like there might be a few others, but they're secondary and I can't tell what they are. Lemon is noted, but is relatively faint in the mix. It adds some sweetness, but sweet honey is much more culpable (if you want to call it that) for the sweet flavor. A little Belgian yeast is noted on the tail. Nice touch. It finishes spicy and slightly sweet. There's quite a bit more to the flavor than the nose. It is enough to warrant a bump in score.
Witch's Wit has a light body, but doesn't feel watered down at all. It is pretty well carbonated. Yeah...a Lost Abbey beer...and it's carbonated. Whatever problems they may have had with some other releases, this one's fine. This one's smooth and has a nice feel. Drinkability is good. This is a good Witbier. I'm not generally a huge fan of the style, but I like this one. It's got a nice flavor and goes down easy.
Witch's Wit is a good Witbier. I can't say it's among Lost Abbey's best beers, but it's pretty good (especially for a Witbier). It's a little unique in that it features a rather prominent sweet honey flavor. I like that. I wouldn't say that makes it out of line for the style, but it is somewhat novel in that respect. The look and the nose could use a little work. They're above average, but could be better. Overall, this is pretty good stuff. Who would've thunk it? Lost Abbey makes good beer. Despite the fact that Tomme Arthur and crew may not be perfect, they still make damn good beer more often than not. This one's definitely worth checking out.

A light, foggy yellow. Smells of yeast, sourdough bread, salt, and a hint of banana. The taste mostly follows the smell, but with the addition of a slight sour apple flavor. There's also biting spice at the end, hitting first with a hot clove taste and then with a bit more mellow and sweet flavor. Carbonation is medium. Overall, a beer that's a little disappointing at first sip, but is quite enjoyable as it heats up and it's flavors come out.

Poured from a bomber to a tulip glass. Pours a straw color with a white head about two fingers thick of large bubbles. Head dissipated quickly. Smells of citrus and bread (side note that my nose is a little clogged due to allergies). Tastes of bread, citrus, pilsner, and a little honeydew. Feel is a medium light body, just a little heavier than a pils. Overall a pleasant beer, very nice wit that's just perfect for summer.
