On tap.

A- Yellow, hay-like color. Very foggy and some swimmies apparent from the yeats. Small quarter finger head with little lacing. Lots of effervescence.

S- Dank with a big bouquet of layers. Grapes, vines, and a little vinegar upfront. Gives way to some other earth smells like hay, straw, and a hint of lemon. Chardonnay and oak in the back.

T- Like the smell, this ale has a lot of business taking place. Pretty tart and sour upfront with the acidity noticeable. Chardonnay and oak are still here. A little citrus and dark fruit accompanied by the tartness of a cider.

M- Light to medium bodied. You can feel the wild yeasts in this one and the fuzziness.

O- My absolute favorite wild to date. Very sour, but it balances out perfectly with the other flavors. There is a lot of depth in this ale and is if fun to sip and play with the flavors. Glad I got the chance to try this one and it definitely lives up to the hype. Awesome job by Tomme and the crew at Lost Abbey.

you know what? this beer fucking stinks and I'm not even sure it's a beer. $7 hard earned dollars wasted, as usual. really was looking forward to trying this, but, wait for it, it really fucking stinks. I gotta say it twice.

ugly boring cider like yellow. smells and tastes of flat, yellow lemony vinegar. if I want a lemon I'll eat one from my tea. I'm actually one of those people who loves bitter lemon, but this is not that. vinegar. who the fuck wants vinegar in your beer.

you want a good, no great, beer? go get yourself a Weyerbacher Riserva, now that's a great, sour, barrel aged beer. bottom line, this was fucking terrible.'good thing I only wasted $7 on it. never understand how these kinds of beers get ratings around here.

On tap at Capone's during Philly beer week. Served in a mini snifter.

Appearance: Golden yellow in color with no head (These were all poured from the keg at the same time and then brought out all together at the same time, so it's possible any head had already dissipated). Body is slightly hazy.

Smell: Grape, lacto, oak, funk, slight vinegar. Overall quite vinous.

Taste: Follows the aroma pretty closely. Red grape, quite strong lacto presence, a bit more oak then in the nose and some barnyard like brett character. Sourness is medium.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with medium/low gentle carbonation. Relatively soft mouthfeel.

Overall: An excellent American wild ale. You'll never mistake this for a gueuze, as the name might lead you to believe, but this is still a excellent beer worth seeking out.
