Punch bowl wasn't a serving option, so I guess I'll go with on-tap. I have no idea how the beer made it into the punch bowl, though.

The beer appears bright purple, very cloudy with a small pinkish head that disappears quickly. It smells strongly of tart cherries and ripe, sweet raspberries. It's fairly acetic as well, like a raspberry vinaigrette. The fruit character is ripe and fresh, very impressive. The taste is surprisingly sharp and sour, with a big acetic acid kick and a massive amount of ripe raspberry and cherry flavor. It's slightly vinous and woody, but the fruit is really all-consuming here. I could accuse this beer of being simple, but the fruit character is so nice that I really can't complain. Great stuff.

I had this at Stone 13 and wasn't quite sure what to think of it. I had it again at Beachwood BBQ's Sour Fest.

A: A bright pinkish red color with no foam. It has the look of a fruity mixed drink.

S: Mildly tart and a lot of raspberries.

T: As the nose indicates, tons of raspberry flavor. A very nice combination of sweetness and tartness.

M: Not much in the way of carbonation, light in body.

D: A very interesting beer. I was glad to have the chance to try this a few times.

On tap at the BBF.

Pours a lightly hazed reddish purple, thick off white head forms, settles down to a thick ring, leaves some lace spots on the glass, a pretty brilliant colour.

Smell is awesome, very fruity, grapes, lemons and oranges, vanilla, caramel, some wood, honey, juicy, raspberries, lots of fruit character and light acidity, does smell like sangria.

Taste is similar, lots of neat fruit character, mangoes, oranges, lemon acidity, wood, grapes/wine, vanilla, touch of funky sourness, sweet honey in the finish.

Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with medium carbonation. Really good stuff, I enjoyed this alot.

Pours a ruddy pink, small, white foam head.

Smells ... like raspberries ... a generally sort of "berry-ness", and a bunch of sour. Yeah, it smells sour.

Mmm...taste is pretty interesting, with a big acidic/raspberry?? base, oak, and some vinous notes. Interesting, a bit sour and puckering over the long haul, but quite good. Good carbonation and mouthfeel for the style.

I really liked this. A bit of an "introductory" sour, if it can be called that, due to the high level of soured fruit. About as drinkable as this style can get, IMHO.

On-tap at the Lost Abbey Sinners Party - apparently Phunky Duck with sour cherries and raspberry mead. Served in a pint glass.

A - Two fingers of pinkish tan foam over a hazed cherry/wine-red body. Dissipates to a solid cap with a touch of lacing. Good looking brew!

S - Horsey funk, red wine, cherries, raspberries. Very Flanders red/La Folie like...

T - Almost identical to the smell, with more tartness and a nice sour dry finish. Apparently this is 10% but I couldn't pick up any of it.

M - Moderate carbonation with a good amount of tingle. Medium body, very dry Flanders red finish with some dryness and tart apple/cottonmouth sensations.

D - Very sessionable. If it weren't for the deceptively high ABV it'd be perfect. A delicious beer-based alternative to regular Sangria - good for all those allergic to sulphites.

On-tap at Beachwood BBQ, a one-off wild ale with raspberries, base beer is Phunky Duck I believe, not sure of the exact specifications,

A: Pours bright red, almost pink, looks a bit like a cosmopolitan in colour, no real head.

S: Raspberries, Christmas spice, cinnamon.

T: Tons of delicious raspberry flavour, the real jammy fruit, not unlike NG Raspberry Tart, it was really reminiscent of that beer. The beer defintely has some vinous and barrel complexities which make this beer very interesting, while the delicious fruit flavour makes it very fun to drink.

M: Light-bodied, refreshing, sweet and sour finish.

D: Another beauty from Lost Abbey on the night. Delicious, full-flavoured, shame I'll never have it again most likely, one of the best fruit beers I've ever had.

A: Hazy pink color. Kind of unusual. When Tomme told me it was mixed with meade it kind of made a bit more sense. Little bit of head almost tinget purple. Interesting looking beer.

S: Lots of fruit. Rasberries. Little bit of tart cherries. Nice amount of lacto with more bret funk coming through as it warmed up.

T: More sour than the aroma would lead you to believe. Lots of rasberries with the mead providing just barely enough sweetness to balance it out.

M: Weird mouthfeel. Very light one sip and a little syrupy then next. Well carbonated.

D: I had a few of these but it just really did not wow me. A really good beer and definately something different but it just missed for me.
