12.7 ounce bottle - $14.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Gurgles out an inky, blank body with a smallish, but dense, dark tan head.
Smell: Blended malts leaning towards roasted with noticed inclusions of the sublime bourbon and brandy barrel aging. Bittersweet chocolate, nutty sweet syrups. Heavy on the dark fruits.
Taste: Roasty maltiness, dark chocolate fudge, a spoonful of maple syrup. A few flecks of char. Blend of the robust brandy and bourbon notes. Deep dark fruitiness, prunes and dates. Splash of tawny port. Low hint of anise. A little perceived saltiness precedes the soft, roasty, chocolaty finish followed by lingering warmth and sweetness.
Mouthfeel: Full-bodied. Medium-low carbonation. Smooth, velvety mouthfeel.
Overall: Let us all enjoy the wonder of Deliverance Ale!
