Poured into a snifter. Opague black with a very nice creamy light brown ring around the glass.
Smell is all chocolate and bourbon. Not much else.
Taste is insanely malty. The hot booze immediately touches down and burns everything in it's way down. The smooth chocolate middle comes in to simmer the fire. A strong hop presence makes it's stand but is no match for the ongoing battle on the tastebuds (Sorry getting a little tipsy here) A strong oak presence is always dwelling the background along with a slight tweek of vanilla.
Mouth is full bodied,Very numbing on the palate bu does have some amazing lacing for such a high ABV.
Another score from Lost Abbey. Quickly moving up the ladder as one of my all time favorites.
