Enjoyed at the Davis Beer Shoppe from a cooled bottle.
A- dark but deffinately not black with a thin rim of head only around the edge in a light brown ring. Lots of gorgeous oil that lingers on the glass like a sweet wine.
S- tone of whiskey barrel and brandied wood and purple velvet.
T- Hot and buttery. Tobacco, grain and bourbon.
M- good for the strong ale style but a little thin if put directly up against some of cali's great strong anniversary strong ales.
D- highly enjoyable on the right occasion or as a treat for the soul.
Great mix of two great outputs from Lost Abby. Another home run!
