On-tap at Acre for Faux-BAB.
Pours black with brown highlights and medium brown head.
Aroma of bourbon, wood, and some dark fruits.
Upfront taste is heavy on bourbon with a light roasted malt base, a little chocolate, and dark fruits. Blast of bourbon and wood dominate the finish.
Full bodied and syrupy with low to medium carbonation. Sticky finish with decent alcohol heat.
Very barrel-forward. Glad to see that it came carbonated. Not too complex as the bourbon overwhelms a lot of the flavors and aromas, but very enjoyable. If this wasn't so expensive in bottle format, I'd stock up on it.
