Had on tap at EBF; now reviewing from a bottle.
Pours deep brown with a hint of ruby. Thin, pillowy, roasted marshmallow colored head throughout.
The aroma is a blast of booze, and lots of oak. Smells like I have my head in a recently-emptied barrel. Great stuff.
The taste of the bottled version is true to what I remember from the keg at EBF. Strong bourbon notes, with a solid roasty, oaky base. Maybe a touch of tobacco as well. Slightly sweet for the most part, the brandy dries out the finish, giving this brew a second life at the back end. Superb.
Mouthfeel is solid and appropriate- not too slick, and the lingering flavors are subtly sweet and pleasant, especially considering the onslaught of flavor in every sip.
This brew is truly spectacular. I have yet to try the two brews that make up this masterpiece, but I will seek them out (and perhaps mix them together). This beer is an expensive yet special treat that is worth the price of admission.

Poured into my Gandhi-Bot snifter. Dark chocolate body with about a finger of mocha-colored head. Seemed a little thin on the pour, but still pretty good eye candy.
Some nice boozy notes in the nose. I suppose I'm getting a bit of apple, caramel, and raisin from the brandy barrel aging. Otherwise, some milk chocolate in there too. I enjoy how this smells.
Strong booziness. I think this beer would benefit from aging. I like big, boozy beers; but the booze here has overpowered the flavors the smell is teasing me with. As it warms, I do pick up some chocolate.
Mouthfeel is thinner than I'd like for a barrel-aged brew. I wish this were thicker and more syrupy.
This is pretty good. In the future, I think I'd like to buy one to age. You know, when I feel like spending $17 on a small beer again.
