Zero carbonation or "fizz", no bubbles. flat. Cloudy brown brew. Awful appearance.

Funky sweet/sour aroma. Lots of vanilla, oak, apple, pear, fig, honey, bright. Unique aroma. Nicely built. Hot.

Flat as two pancakes. Nice forward sourness followed by a rush of barrel sweetness and booze. Loads of brandy, boozey sour pears, chewy, robust well rounded flavors. Opens nicely when warmed close to room temps.

This brew kicks ass. It has aged gracefully; seek and destroy. Lost "Flat" Abbey did a very nice job with this brew.

Pour is dark ruby red, slightly hazed, and virtually no head. Nose is heavy dark malt, cardboard and soy sauce with a light bit of cherry. Taste is brutal, slightly sour and tons of soy sauce and oxidation. The complete lack of carbonation makes the finish brutal with a fair bit of tart cherry.

375 mL bottle poured into a wine glass.

Appearance - Pours dark brown reddish body. No head. Lifeless.

Smell - Ooh, nice. Brandy. Some red wine notes. Lots of caramel and deep brown sugar. Slight acidity.

Taste - Much more sour. Lactic sourness. Dark caramel. Much more red wine. Slight vinegar notes in the finish.

Mouthfeel - Flat. Nice sourness and very complex.

Overall - Very enjoyable. Complex sour flavors. Awesome.

Shared this one at a recent Random Sunday Tasting! Served from bottle into a Mikkeller taster flute. Poured dark brown with a minimal off-white head that subsided to none quickly. There was no lacing evident throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt sour, tart, cherry, and fruit. The flavor was of sweet malt, cherry, earth, tart, fruit, and wood. It had a light feel on the palate with mild carbonation. Overall this was a decent brew. I really went into this one expecting to have something special. While most of the components here were decent, nothing really stood out to take it to the next level which was rather unfortunate. This was definitely one of the cases where some more carbonation would have helped this brew out quite a bit. Worth your time trying this one, but I wouldn’t personally trade big for it.
