Consumed 10/17. Review from notes.

Little to no cab. Ruby hued clear brown color. Lots of sour cherries. Oak, bourbon, and chocolate.

Tart and sour. A little acidic. Some sweetness.

Thanks to rudzud for allowing me to split these with him.

No head, dark slight clear mahogany dark brown molasses color. 3.75

Nose sour brown malts, strong ale malts, little candy brown malts and nutty notes, lots of sour cherries, some vanilla barrel notes, faint peach thing, light Madeira like barrel, no real alcohol, some wild notes, funk like but not a ton.4

Taste is great, super sour to start, gland exploding sour, tart fruit. Pours if big sweet candy malts, syrupy with plenty of Ángel share base with faint bourbon, light vanilla barrels, etc. Lots of tart cherries, little malt vinegar, and nice peach, generic fruit syrup, little molasses even. Finish is syrupy sticky, little booze note, more sour fruits lingering, syrupy malts. 4.25

Mouth fuller bod, syrupy as Hell, sticky flemmy, no carb, mild booze. 3.25

Overall pretty nice but there are difficulties in drinking this. 4

From the VIP box set. Split with JLindros

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a clear mahogany chestnut hue with no head, quite still. 3.75 (x .05 = .188)

S - Aromas of Angel share, cherries, light peaches. No booze on the nose, little vanilla barrel notes. 4 (x .2 = .8)

T - Taste is nice and tart. There's the stone fruit! Really tasty, the Angel share is not nearly as dominant as it was in the nose. Incredibly sour and tart. Nice barrel notes, faint bourbon. Lightly sweet, alcohol is hidden incredibly well. This is delicious. 4.25 (x .45 = 1.913)

M - Mouthfeel is basically still, but the alcohol is hidden absurdly well. 3.5 (x .1 = .35)

O - Overall this beer had it's flaws. The nose and mouthfeel really hurt this beer. The taste is nice but it's hindered by the flat carbonation. A shame. 3.75 (x .2 = .75)

375 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Reviewed from notes.

Appearance - Deep murky reddish brown. Small head. Thin collar.

Smell - Peach is strongest. Lots of charred oak aromas, too. Acidic smelling with some caramel sweetness behind.

Taste - Less acidic than the nose implied. Brettier, too. Peach still comes out. The caramel is completely bereft of accompanying sweetness, which is suprising. Dry finish.

Mouthfeel - Pretty sour and very dry. Medium body with plenty of carbonation.

Overall - The bright tartness is good, but I'm not convinced on how it plays out with all of the residual caramel flavors.
