Appearance: Pours a clear golden color with an inch or so of foam that leaves strands of lace behind

Smell: Wheat bread, straw, Belgian yeast phenols, leather, banana; hints of peach and cantaloupe

Taste: Opens with bread and banana tones, with a hint of funk developing in the middle, along with cantaloupe and peach flavors; leather and sweet candi sugar tones combine in the finish with the other flavors that appeared earlier

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body; slightly overcarbonated

Overall: Drinks more like a Belgian pale than a wild ale, as others have noted even after giving the Brett a couple of years to do its thing; it would score higher if the expectations weren't set by the labeling

Appears a glowing orange toned gold with a fluffy white cap that never fades. Tons of scattered lacing is left around the glass.
Smell is of peaches, and passion fruit with an abundance of vanilla pulling through.
Taste is echoing the aromatics with citrus, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, and vanilla coming through.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, spritzy, and even keeled. Hardly sour dominant by any means. Very balanced, and brett forward on the mellow end.

i think this is superior to the new belgium release, but still a let down as wild ales go. the brett hasnt changed this much since its release, and we are left with an underwhelming pale hazy yellow beer thats soft in feel and well heady, but pretty minimal as far as flavor goes. lots of stale wheat malt, and a yeast that is neither funky or traditional, its sort of dry and bready, but the usual characteristics of the brett dont ever show up. i get some fruity zest on the back end, but a general staleness is my takeaway. the feel is fine, bubbly and light on the palate, but the flavors just never really show up. kind of a sloppy yeasty mess, i know the lost abbey is capable of better, they have some amazing wilds, but this one is a bit of a throwaway at this point.
