Notes/Commercial Description:
This beer is retired; no longer brewed.

Brewed with raisins and aged in bourbon barrels with sour cherries and currants added.

Track 9 began as a few barrels of Cuvee de Tomme that hadn’t matured enough to make it to bottling last year. To those we added currants and additional dose of Brett and let Nature do what she would. The result is a jammy brew with just the right amount of tartness and funk.

Had this at the brewery last week. 17.99 for 375 ml. This is from notes.

Pours deep glowing burgundy with a fizzy, off white head that lasts a good while. Sweet current notes mingle with a subtle sourness and a good dose of earthy, funky brett. The taste follows suit with the same sourness mixed flawlessly with fruity and funky flavors. Chewy malt flavors lie in the back. The alcohol is surprisingly well hidden, its basically not there. The mouthfeel is creamy with soft carbonation bubbles and fullbodied. The finish is tart and dry with a lingering soft sourness.

This beer is incredible. Very, very complex and easy to drink. Hits all the bases for a good sour ale. Excellent stuff.

375 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Reviewed from notes.

Appearance - Brownish red. Khaki head becomes a medium collar and some wisps.

Smell - Cherries and other dark fruits. Musty and caramelly. Vinous with raisins and a lot of acidity.

Taste - Fruit is more muddled. Caramel is more prevalent. I guess it's the currants that push through the most, but I'm not an expert on currants.

Mouthfeel - Muddy kind of sour. Well carbonated, maybe too much. Dry.

Overall - Not my favorite. It's got a lot of fruit flavors going on that get muddled together.
