Small, local, stand up brewery with really very tasty offerings on tap for you. I didn't expect much but the beer is very good here. We visited simply for being local to Stone Brewing and our trip to SoCal. If you are in Escondido, it is worth the small trip over. Their Belgians/Abbey's are tasty! Plus we saw a Saison (Farmhouse) on tap that was fantastic. I understood that they brewed other sours. It is a local, informal place where you can stand up and enjoy some very flavorful offerings. Don't plan on eating here. But don't miss this stop! Support this place.

This is a seriously cool spot, even during a pandemic. Friendly folk working the counter. Great variety of beers from both sides of the house (American & European). Their Czech Pilsner was stellar. Even though it’s in a warehouse, it has that brewery vibe that you expect from a place of such high esteem. I didn’t try the food truck out front but it looked delicious and it’s nice that food is available to pair with delicious beer.

Visited with my wife on a recent trip to San Diego and Los Angeles.

Tried the following:
Lost Abbey Farmhouse Lager (sample)
Lost Abbey Red Barn Ale (sample)
Lost Abbey Devotion (sample)
The Hop Concept Hop Freshener Series: Citrus & Piney (draft)

Beers ranged from decent to excellent. Service was good as the bartender was happy to engage and provide samples. Casual, inviting atmosphere in the taproom during the day. Bought some Judgement Day and Red Poppy Ale to go and I enjoyed both beers. Our overall experience was great, and we would certainly come back.

it was amazing to finally make it to one of the craft breweries that initially turned me on all the way, way back when, with beers like angels share, nobody was doing anything like that at the time, and to get out to the brewery was a real experience. i was somehow expecting a church or something, but its just a warehouse, fully industrial in what appears to be a pretty generic part of town, back in some business park or whatever, and the space is pretty no frills. i mean they have some cool artwork behind the bar that i recall from some labels over the years, but the bar area is small, some high top tables and a view to all the tanks, barrels in the back, and a split menu for lost abbey and port brewing, as well as the hop concept. i was hoping for a few more exclusive beers from each, but i felt stoked to find at least a few. i loved the fuzzy angles peach angels share, and the barrel aged serpents stout, they also had some heady vintage bottles that were pricey but we did it any way. the vibe is mellow and low key, unpretentious and seemingly almost unaware of their place in the pantheon of influential breweries for so many of us. it might not be the coolest place in the world to drink a beer, the taproom is nothing special, but to go to the origin of these beers and drink them fresh was a real experience, a long time coming, cross it off the bucket list...

A very dark warehouse. My eyes aren’t the greatest but when it’s night time turn up the lights so you can see what you’re doing. Decent selection of beers, especially since they own port brewing. Decent amount of room to wander around and not be crammed. Service was average and the beers were ok. Red Poppy was rather tasty.

Nestled in the old Stone warehouse, whats not to like about a place that has no frills, a plethora of selections across multiple sub-brands and a handful of ever-rotating barrel-aged goodies?

Great beer, good service. The place can get a wee bit crowded on weekends but they manage. Only real drawback is when they host events. The tasting room can only accommodate about 150? (total guess) so things always spill out into the parking lot; not good or bad, just saying.

This breweries tasting room is very nice. Not much on the eyes, unless you do enjoy drinking while forklifts drive by, I happen to enjoy it. The bartenders are great, selection is fantastic. I recommend a stop to taste and enjoy.

What says come in and have some damn fine beer better than an open garage door? A spacious, welcoming taproom situated next to the fermentation tanks in a large, open air industrial space. This is where the beer is made and they don't spruce it up - nice change of pace! After all, if the beer is good who cares about the scenery?

That said, the staff is very helpful and quite laid back. They talk up their brews and gave great recommendations. Hopefully you get the bartenders we had and not the condescending ones noted in other reviews.

Selection is great - they have Lost Abbey & Port on tap, including seasonals, limited and BA offerings. We split a flight of year round and seasonals, and then had a handful of BA tasters from both breweries. Some of the year round stuff is above-average to good, but the seasonal and BA sauce was delicious.

Space is small and there are not a lot of barrels to sit at, and it is indeed in an industrial complex with very limited parking.

No frills place with some very cool stuff on tap - get some.
