I planned on going to Rattle 'N' Hum while in NYC, however on my second day in the city, I serendipitously passed it while walking around to another destination. Naturally I went in. The bar was clean, and not too crowded on a weekday afternoon. The bottled beer selection was very good, a large number of beers on tap as well.
Unfortunately, they only had 1 beer on cask when I was there (apparently they usually have 4). The beer was Pretty Thing's Brown ale, and it was in good condition and quite tasty. However, it was a bit hazy with sediment. For this reason I rated quality and selection down a bit.
The waitress was friendly and attentive, I would definitely go here again next time I am in NYC.

Recently out in the city to meet an old friend. Have been wanting to go here for some time, but just hadnt made it. Im glad I did. My kind of place. Good beer. Cool people. Staff was friendly and accomodating. A solid selection of styles. The pricing was a little heavy but I didnt rate it as such figuring it was the city. We tried a few different things from the menu. All were good, but as one might expect from simple pub food. Nothing I'd write home about, but good.
All in all a place I'd recommend. Had a great time.

Arrived around 4:30 pm on a Wednesday. The bar was completely full but plenty of tables were open. Greeted by a server immediately but it took some time until she returned for a drink order. I knew what I wanted almost instantly but it seemed perhaps they give all patrons appropriate time to look over the draft list, it certainly is extensive. I order a glass of Bourbon County because, well, why not. $10 for an 8 oz pour, yeah... that's overpriced. Granted, I'm right off Fifth Ave but still, come on. Other pour prices weren't as obnoxious... Jai Alai $8 for 14 oz, but I guess this is NYC after all. I ordered the Fish & Chips; the chips were well done but the fish wasn't great. Breading completely fell apart from the fish and was a bit soggy.
By 6:00 pm the bar was completely packed and literally had to fight your way back out to 33rd St. Another one of these places I'd love to hit between that 2:00-4:00 time frame for the sake of the crowd it seems to draw.
