It's been over a month since I last checked out Granite City so I thought it was time to give it another try. I was much more impressed with the Bock this time than I was the first.
A - Just like the first time I tried this beer. It really looks good and tasty, but it's not a Maibock, it's a Bock. A great dark appearance with a just slightly off-white head that sticks around and leaves some nice lace.
S - Again, bread and sweet malt, but much more pronounced than the one I had a month before. Also some faint smokiness.
T - This is where the beer really stands out from the last time I checked it out. Sweet caramel, bread, raisins and much like the aroma a hint of smokiness. The taste could be a bit more complex but there is a marked improvement over the first time I tried this beer.
D - So far this is my favorite beer from Granite City, but it could be hit or miss according to the batch it came from. If you have a chance, give this one a try and I doubt you'll be disappointed.

Appearance - a clear reddish amber, barely any lacing
Smell - light roasted malt, light dark toffee, light crust
Taste - nice combo of light roast and light toffee, light minerals and crust in the back
Mouthfeel - lighter side of medium, easy drinker, smooth, medium carb, nice edges
Overall - not a bad bock, nice flavors, a little on the lighter side, very drinkable.
