Sampled in Sioux Falls:

Pale gold hue with a trace of bronze influence, it was served with a weakly developed soapy head. No subsequent lace was produced as I quaffed. Disappointing to look at. Somewhat sweet nose, no real development beyond that, a hint of grain at best. No invitation to drink. The palate is slightly leaning towards the sweet malty-side but some, almost hidden, grainy-huskiness balances the taste. No hops of note, no bitterness, not even in a minor role. Crisp finish. The low carbonation allows for easy consumption and a pleasing mouthfeel. This is a decent American lager. I need not drink it again, it is too pedestrian but you can try one. A macro-lager beer for a chain brewpub… a stroke of genius!

The Granite City signature--the Victory pours a golden color with a very thin bubbly head, some carbonation present. A very smooth, somewhat taste of toffee/caramel, pleasant for this style. A tiny feel of hops is left on the palate. Goes down smooth, very drinkable.

This light/medium body lager has a nice light copper color and a bready soft aroma. I would say this is the lighter-malted little brother of the Mai Bock. I like a lager with character, this is one of them
