12oz. bottle poured into pint glass. Reviewed from notes (even though they're probably not even necessary at this point, given my exposure and sheer amount of sessions with this brew).
A: A rich and clear amber color, with a very thin white head that leaves little-to-no-lacing down the glass. The color and clarity are very nice, but this one really suffers from terrible head retention.
S: Overall pretty clean and light. Some mild hop aroma, light grains, and a solid slightly toasted malt. A very understated hint of citrus becomes somewhat apparent as the beer warms up. While not offensive, this isn't really one you'll want to sniff for too long.
T: A light dash of hop/citrus that gets rounded out (perhaps a little too) quickly by some sweet malts, grain, and a touch of cracker-like breadiness.
M: Smooth, light-bodied (but noticeably fuller than light lagers), with a crisp carbonation. This one goes down oh-so-easily on a hot day.
O: Being from Pennsylvania, if you go to bar (namely one that doesn't specialize in craft brews) and ask for a lager, a cold Yuengling is what you'll get. I'll be the first to admit that I am 100% okay with drinking this one. Most of my buddies don't go to craft bars, so Yuengling is typically my savior from the BMC light beers. Take Yuengling for what it is: a basic lager that is light years ahead of most macros in quality and drinkability.
