Yuengling Lager, or simply "Lager" if you're in Bal'more, is the staple beer of the Greater Washington Metropolitan Area. At less than $5/6'er, it's hard to find another in that price range worth drinking.
This beer was enjoyed after a nice Saturday of laying mulch. A perfect accompaniment for physical labor.
Appearance - Clear amber with no head.
Smell - like a macro but with hints of something different.
Taste - beer. This is what your dad's beer tasted like when you used to sneak them out of the fridge in high school.
Mouthfeel - clean.
Drinkability - You could surely drink 6 of these without a lot of thought; especially after laying mulch all afternoon.
A nice, cheap beer for your out-of-town friends to enjoy.

From my attempt at a non-biased perspective, it's too good to be called "okay", but not good enough to be "great." From my biased perspective as a Pennsylvanian, I'm proud to have grown up around such a fine old-school, family-owned, Pennsylvania-made lager.
Nice appearance. I know green bottles are supposed to be possibly skunkier, but Yuengling has a classy look and a nice logo. It's got an American bald eagle on it, man. Amurika! This stuff just screams, "Drink me on Independence Day while booting unionists in the face and listening to Merle Haggard!"
Upon pouring, it is immediately distanced from Budweiser and other mass-market lagers by its deep amber color. The head is not terribly impressive, but it's decent, and honestly, this is, again, a decent no frills beer.
It smells hoppy and citrus-y, but not overwhelmingly so (or not strong enough; your choice).
Yuengling Traditional tastes good. Look - a common American lager with noticeable hops! Fairly dry, but very, very creamy. Rather malty. Not much of an aftertaste. Very clean-cut stuff. Crisp, crisp, crisp.
This beer will never knock one's socks off, but the thing with Yuengling is that it isn't trying to be anything other than what it is; a decent beer that is pleasant to drink. Though it's made to be no frills, it's really quite a nice beer.
My most recent drinking experience was from a bottle, poured into a glass, but I personally seem to prefer this beer from the tap.

One of the first beers I remember Actually Enjoying. These days, on my trips back to PA, I find myself drinking Yuengling out of a can. I grew up drinking Yuengling in a bottle, but the can seems to have a better taste. It may be time for Yuengling to switch to a Brown Bottle. Summer in a Can.
