A: Amber/brownish color, clear, good head.
-- Label is clean and classic, but I grew up in western pa so this is my go-to beer when nothing else is available
S: Malty and clean
T: Depending on how you get it and the temperature, can vary for a pre-prohibition lager. Generally a good example for the group. Occasionally can be bland w/ a metal after taste. I have had this beer in all varieties available and generally is a decent go to lager.
M: Clean standard lager.
O: I grew up in western PA and this is my personal go to beer when nothing better available or I go for the "collage days nostalgia". Way better than any other "lite" beer and you know what you are getting. Generally... never great, but never bad.

Yuengling is my go to beer. The taste is well balanced, well brewed and color is unique.
Bottled is my first choice, cans taste strong maybe because of the aluminum, and drafts very rarely taste flat but still drinkable...but bottles are the full drinking experience

On tap in a pint glass at Woodlands Tavern on 10/3/11
Background: I asked the bartender to pour a pint of his finest Yuengling Lager with a nice head on it and, hot dang, he obliged. I headed out to the patio with a bitchn' new black trench coat and set up shop at a table for two about fifteen feet from the patio fire's glow. Jackyl's "Down On Me" came on the radio. Buggy passed up ticking MoaS to work. I'm ok with that.
A) I can't fault the clarity with this one - caramel colored and as clear as they come. However, that nicely poured one finger head was nearly gone by the time I got outside; an island skim and ring of retention remain. No lace.
S) The aroma is slick and kind of grainy. Hops seem in very low dosage here. Metallic notes and adjuncts are in force. It doesn't smell bad, but it's definitely lackluster.
T) It tastes similar, but swap out metallic for a a grassy notion. Dirty grass and hay. Not overly hoppy with bitterness being low (as expected) but it does have a kick to it and the hops do cover up some of the adjunct and grain flavors. Finishes with a surprising amount of residuals - a decent grassy flavor lingers long, which suits me just fine.
M) Medium-light body. Slick upfront, surrendering to a slight graininess underneath. Carbonation isn't lacking, pushing the modest hop flavors to the fore. The finish turns a bit metallic as it warms.
D) Nostalgic notes of North Woodbury, fruit flies, 3' x 3' shower stalls with cold water, 1695 N 4th, Rhoda Ave and Belligerent Bills, an unsolicited back rub by an old chick that was upset that I wouldn't smile, Ingles, and the days before heroin ate my friends.
