In celebration of our 180th Anniversary year, the marketplace will see one of the first seasonal offerings from the Yuengling Brewery in many years. Yuengling has produced a Bock Beer in its long and storied past, and we have now reinvented that product for limited release in 2009. The new brew is dark brown in color and offers exceptional flavor that lives up to the quality Yuengling drinkers have grown to expect

Yuengling Bock has a thick, beige head and a clear, brown appearance, with a bit of lacing. The aroma is of brown bread crust. The flavor is of sweet brown bread crust and low bitterness. Yuengling Bock has a medium body and a dry finish.

Dark ruby red in color. Nice head that falls, doesn't lace. Very clear.

Smells of subtle dark malts, salt and a bit metallic.

Taste is creamy and smooth. A bit of bitterness and finishes with very fresh caramelized malts that stick around and slowly fade.

Has a strong carbonation with tiny bubbles.

Overall, easy to drink and I'll probably want another when I'm done. This tastes particularly fresh and somewhat complex. I really like it and would love to go back to back with other American Bock beers like shiner. I've never tasted these clear fresh modified malts in others. Yeungling can make great beers and have done so in the past like India Pale Lager and their hefeweizen. Both of these were discontinued years ago unfortunately.

L: Medium brown with some amber. Barely any head or lacing.
S: Some roasted malts come through the cold/sinus infection/COVID/whatever I've had.
T: Basically the same as the nose. Easy drinking.
F: A little thin and watery.
O: Not quite up there with classic American style Bocks like Shiners, but goes down easy if you want something simple that's a little better than PBR or Rolling Rock or whatever. I'd prefer a slightly more viscous mouth feel though.
