Served in a pizza boy snifter, poured from a 32oz growler

a very attractive purple/blue with a nice head after an aggressive pour. Picking up much if the wine barrels on the aroma, with a nice dose of the fruit. The taste is more tart than sour, but very drinkable. Medium carbonation and the wine really shows it's character as it warms. Glad I picked up a couple growlers on this but I'm not sure if they'll survive the next couple days.

Served on-tap at Al's of Hampden.

A - Pours murky pinkish purple with a nice one finger tall white head, quickly dissipating down to a light film, leaving small spots of lace on the sides of the glass.

S - Smells of tart blueberries, woody oak, lactic sourness, light musty funk and some bready malt. Smells just like the base but with the addition of the wood aging.

T - Starts off with the tart blueberries quickly giving way to hints of light basement must, touch of funk, oak and plenty of drying tannins. Finish is tart and quite dry, lingering long after the finish. The base is dry and this is no exception.

M - Medium body with moderate carbonation. Tart, dry feel from start to finish limits how much you could consume.

O - Considering this is Royal Tannin Bomb aged in wine barrels I think it came out exactly how I thought it would. It still has all of the tart flavor of Tannin Bomb but with even more dryness thanks to the added wine barrel vinous character. It is a good beer for a great cause, cheers to everyone involved in this one.

Draft offering at Pizza Boy served in a snifter. The brew appears a clouded light purple color with a finger of pink head that rapidly dissolves. A swirl efforlessly revives a finger back to the surface that fades leaving some spots of lacing effect on the glass.

The aroma is juicy and fruity with a lemony lactic presence giving way to oak and some earthen/dusty brett character. It is somewhat yeasty smelling towards the finish. But as it warms, it has a really nice berry character that blends into the brett and wine attributes. For a wild blueberry beer, it has an impressive nose considering how dainty blueberries are post fermentation.

The taste is borderline beyond tart with a bacterial snap of sharpness that isnt quite acedic but well beyond the realms of your normal lactic sourness. It is fruity and earthen with a touch of grassy character before getting more flavors of brett and some raw oakiness. Across the finish, this brew gets drying almost like strong greek yogurt but more puckering and quite tannic. If infact this is tannin bomb as a base, this iteration is much more fitting of that name.

This is a light bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation. A really impressive blueberry sour that I dont think could get much more blueberry character without going the artificial route. The barrel presence in this integrates nicely with the brew and this drinks overall pretty easy. A very good brew for a good cause. Worth seeking out.

I enjoyed this 1 liter growler thanks to tenderbranson69 for sharing poured chilled in a tumbler.

The color is a magenta shade with thick haze and pink head with fine bead and good retention. The smell is very funky, perhaps acetobacter...kind of vinegar mixed with berry and light odor of malt. The feel is decent, with high carbonation and light sweetness which fades into a very sour moisture sucking from the palate.

The taste is very good with fruity tartness and lots of barrel sourness combined with bacteria making for a puckering brew, the berry notes are there but pretty secondary to the warming drying sour taste. Overall it is certainly wild...very fruity like blueberry lemonade. It is enjoyable, but I am glad I had someone to share the growler, I am not sure I would drink more than 1 serving myself.
