On tap at Pizza Boy.
Dark brown pour with a cap of tan head that sank to a ringlet, leaving a bit of lacing on the glass. Nutty aroma, caramel, bready malts, slight herbal notes. Moderately roasty on the palate, nutshells, bready malts, caramel sweetness, with just a touch of honey--not really as pronounced as in other beers I've had that specifically showcase honey. Fairly sweet, with a subtle earthy hop presence, and a slightly mineral finish. Medium body, decently drinkable. Pretty middle-of-the-road brown ale overall. Not a favorite style of mine, but this was definitely a solid one.

Served on-tap at Al's of Hampden.
A - Pours deep brown with a nice one finger tall off white head, quickly dissipating down to a light film, leaving small streaks of lace down the sides of the glass. Looks almost porter like.
S - Smells of caramel and toffee sweetness, toasted nuts, dash of earthy hops and some flowery sweetness from the honey. Typical brown with some extra sweetness thrown in on top.
T - Starts off much like the nose with the caramel and toffee sweetness quickly being joined by the earthy hops, toasted nuts and the added honey sweetness. Finish is a bit roasty with some light sweetness, not lingering overly long on the palate.
M - Medium body with moderate carbonation. Smooth, malty feel with some backing sweetness from the honey.
O - Usually I hate brown ales but I enjoyed this one. The added honey really helps to round out the rough edges making it easy to consume. Glad I gave it a try.
