Served on-tap at Al's of Hampden.

A - Pours slightly hazy golden yellow with a small half finger tall white head, quickly dissipating down to a very light film, leaving small webs of lace on the sides of the glass.

S - Smells of jalapeño pepper skins, lime zest, bit of hop bitterness and some light sweetness. The peppers dominate the nose, overpowering everything in their way, which I guess was the point but still.

T - Starts off with the strong pepper skin flavor that never really goes away. Hints of grassy hops, lime zest and some residual sweetness try and break up the pepper onslaught but they can only do so much. Finish is more pepper and some light chewiness, lingering long after the finish.

M - Medium body with moderate carbonation. Smooth feel with a fiery kick at the end of each sip. Hard to tell if there is any booze burn with all that pepper kicking around.

O - I have never been a fan of peppered light beers and this one won't be changing my mind. The peppers are way to dominant, leaving no room for the other flavors to come through. Some people may like this one but I just can't get into it.

Thanks Kirb for sharing this growler with me. Poured into a tulip, the brew appears a hazed pale golden color with a white froth that maintains with spotty lace on the glass.

The aroma is strikingly familiar though this is my first experience with this beer. It smells of straight jalapeño that could almost be mistaken for green bell peppers but with with citrus zest inclusion. The more I smell it, it gets a little grassy.

The taste is peppery like green bell pepper more so than jalapeño however a warming peppery spice does tingle across the tongue and throat. Like the nose, a slight zesty fruit and rind inclusion breaks things up.

This is a medium bodied brew with a light amount of carbonation. It is a decent and interesting brew but I lost interest in drinking it about half way through my glass. I didnt get much pale ale aspect out of it other than the color as the zest and peppers really is the focus.
