Growler poured into a chalice
Pours a copper clear liquid with a carbonation stream. Leads to a thin layer of generous bubbles with a good lacings .
Aroma of tropical fruits, candied fruits and pine. Sweet caramel malt
Pine hops on the tip of the tongue on the first sip. Sweet caramel, toffee malts on the second sip in the middle of the tongue. Candied fruits and almost winey taste from the alcohol.
Smooth, well balanced start. Good sudsing, medium body, slight bitter aftertaste in the middle of the tongue. Smooth finish. 9.9 abv but I am not feeling it, well balanced.
Good beer, fresh, interesting and would order it sitting at the bar at Al's

Served on-tap at Al's of Hampden.
A - Pours hazy amber orange with a nice one finger tall white head, quickly dissipating down to a light film, leaving spotty streaks of lace on the sides of the glass.
S - Smells of tropical fruit and piney hops, bit of fresh cut grass, caramel and toffee sweetness and the mildly toasted grains. Pretty pungent aroma this time around.
T - Starts off with the piney hops quickly being joined by their grassy and fruity brethren as well as the caramel, toffee and toasty malt. Finish is pretty bitter with some mild sweetness, dryness lingering long after the finish.
M - Medium body with moderate carbonation. Slick, bitter feel with plenty of dryness at the end of each sip from the hops and booze.
O - First time I had this one it was good but needed refinement. Fast forward a year or two and I am glad to say that it has definitely been improved. It has most of the same flavors but amped up a bit.
