A - An active slightly billowing pour yields slightly more than two fingers worth of lush creamy light khaki colored whipped frothy goodness with a slightly rocky top... Excellent retention ultimately cedes way to a full rich creamy lacing... Mostly still with just a stray carbonation bubble here and there with a few more stuck to the sides of the glass towards the top... The color is a medium copper with a very faint haziness to it... A slight bit of lacing clings to the sides of the glass...
S - A very pleasant aroma... A mix of light Belgian yeast, subtle spiciness and malty goodness that smells as if I'm standing over a brew kettle full of fresh wort... There is a slight but inviting hop presence that lingers beneath the surface... Very enticing...
T - The aroma was a perfect road map for the flavor profile that follows... Belgian yeast... Subtle spice... A rock solid malt backbone... Some light floral notes on the finish as well...
M - Medium bodied... Smooth... Lightly carbonated... Even and consistent... Slightly dense...
D - An enjoyable enough offering that goes easily sip after sip... Not sure I would have pegged this as a Saison in a blind taste test (perhaps a pale ale or amber ale with some faint Belgian influences), but that doesn't mean I enjoy it any less... A unique offering that proves to be a bit more than the sum of its parts...

Look: Pours a nice amber red color with a short white head
Smell: Typical spicy saison yeast with hints of caramel
Taste: More spicy saison yeast, caramel, some hints of citrus as well. Nice malty character to compliment the yeast
Feel: Medium body, good carbonation
Overall: A pretty good saison with a little twist

Served on-tap at Al's of Hampden. Pours hazy copper red with a half finger tall white head, quickly dissipating down to a light film, leaving small streaks of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smells of spicy saison yeast, day old bread, some caramel sweetness, bit of must, some very light fruitiness and some faint booze. Taste is pretty much identical to the nose with the spicy yeast front and center followed closely by the sweetness, breadiness, faint fruitiness finishing quite dry. Spicy, dry feel from start to finish makes it flavorful but thought to drink on a large format.
Overall a decent saison. It has a few of the flavors I desire in a saison but lacks others. Nice to try if you are into the style those.
