Served on-tap at Al's of Hampden. A single keg from a single barrel.

A - Pours hazy golden yellow with a HUGE five finger head, slowly dissipating down to a small half finger tall cap of white head, leaving spotty rings of lace down the glass.

S - Smells of intense barnyard and stinky cheese funk. The fresh peaches burst through right after the funk dies down, combining with hints of fresh grass and lactic sourness, to make one intoxicating nose.

T - Starts off with a big dose of cheesy funk and lactic sourness quickly giving way to hints of fresh picked peaches, wheat grass and damp earth. Fairly well balanced all things considered. Finish is funky with plenty of dryness, lingering on the palate after the finish.

M - Medium-Light body with moderate carbonation. Smooth, funky feel with plenty of fruity goodness. It packs quite a bit of lingering dryness.

O - I had this from the barrel and it was good but I wanted to have it again once it was done. Minus the crazy carb coming out of the keg, this beer has made a pretty incredible transformation. The funk is off the charts yet it remains amazingly easy to drink.

Draft offering at Als. Samples were handed out since the yield was something crazy like 4 gallons. Served in tulip shaped pint glasses with a rich billowing pillow of white head that nearly fills the glass with a little hazed yellow solution resting below. Spits of lace stick to the glad and a swirl revives a yellowish tint to the cap.

The smell is pretty vibrant with peach juice before you even bring your nose to the glass. The peach inclusion is quite natural and ripe with that pitted quality that is fleshy and wonderful smelling. A little note of funk, grass and cheese evolves as it warms with hints of sulfur as the glass warms and is swirled.

The flavor is lactic with a solid inclusion of greek yogurt tang. It is lemony and zesty with hints of citrus and rind before the inclusion of peach juice comes into play. The peach flavor is pretty solid here and natural with an earthy and pitted flavor of a mixture of over-ripe and under-ripe peaches. It is tart enough that it nearly gets piercingly sour towards the finish and really makes you salivate.

This is a light bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation. It is very well dove and easy drinking. Lots of wild depth, a tingly sourness and enough peach inclusion that you know what it is without having to ask. This is the type of fruited sour that all other fruited sours want to be like but dont quite have that fresh fruited brightness. What a shame there isnt multiple barrels of this in the brewery basement, id love to have it again.
