Poured from a crowler

Pours a nice light golden straw color. Fluffy head that lingers.

Smell is light. Nice citrus. Grapefruit obviously, light on the smell though.

Great IPA. Bursting with citrus. Juicy, not overwhelming bitterness. Nice and easy.

Mouthfeel is light and crisp. Really good.

Overall a really great beer. Great flavor, mouthfeel, and body. Very sessionable.

Served on-tap at Al's of Hampden/Pizza Boy Brewing in Enola, PA

A: Pours a lightly hazy golden apricot in color with light amounts of active visible carbonation and some orange + golden yellow highlights. The beer has a finger tall foamy white head that slowly reduces to a very thin film covering the majority of the surface of the beer along with a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: As expected, there are moderate to strong aromas of citrus/grapefruit and citrus/grapefruit pith over a light aroma of slightly sweet caramel malts.

T: Similar to the smell, the taste is also dominated by grapefruit. Upfront there is a light to moderate flavor of grainy and slightly caramel sweet malts with moderate flavors of citrus/grapefruit and citrus/grapefruit pith hops which contribute a light to moderate amount of lingering bitterness.

M: Slightly lighter than medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation.

O: Easy to drink, refreshing, and definitely a sessionable IPA - I really enjoy the citrus/grapefruit flavors in my IPAs so I was a fan of this one.

A- Nice clear yellow amber appearance. small white one finger head.

S- The nose on this brew is amazing, Straight grapefruit rind, small amount of what i would call piney hops, but very small.

T- Grapefruit bomb, with some mild piney bitterness mixed in.

M- Clean brew, nice crispness, very light mouthfeel

O- One of my favorite IPA's to come out of Pizza boy, nice work guys!

Served on-tap at Ffej of July and later at Al's of Hampden.

A - Pours pale yellow with a fizzy one finger tall white head, dissipating down to a light film, leaving spotty trails of lace down the glass.

S - Smells of fresh grapefruit pulp and zest, fresh cut grass, tiny bit of pine and some clean malty sweetness. This one packs a ton of fresh fruit but it doesn't overpower the rest of the aromas.

T - Taste is quite similar to the nose. Starts off with a nice mix of fresh grapefruit and the grassy / piney hops. A hint of light malt sweetness adds a bit of balance toward the end of each sip but this one is all about the fruit. Finish is bitter, leaving the palate dried long after the finish.

M - Medium-Light body with moderate carbonation. Smooth, easy drinking feel make this IPA super easy to consume. I had no trouble downing multiple glasses of this at the party.

O - While I like both of these IPA's, I think there is a very good reason this beer won the contest and also kicked first, it is just easier to drink. The grapefruit is strong, just like it should be, and the light body / low ABV combo make it super easy to drink. Excellent work Terry and ffej's!
