Hidden on a side street in the uptown section of Dallas, the Ginger Man is the most wonderful drinking establishment I have ever seen.
The Ginger Man is a converted house, inconspicuous and drab. The exterior camouflages the true essence of this place...an oasis of beerdom in the middle of shiny, trendy Dallas. I walked in with a friend and sat down at the bar, and what a bar it is. Dozens of beers on tap, numbering over 60 I'd guess. The choices were amazing.
The atmosphere was better than i had imagines. I was expecting that being in the presence of so many quality beers on tap would cancel out the cigar-smoking yuppies I was destined to encounter. Instead, I enjoyed a night of drinking and talking without so much as a cigar crossing my path. I'm sure this had as much to do with the Dallas smoking ban as anything else but hey, I give full credit to the power of beer.
The service was great, I had a short conversation with a bartender about some of the beers, and all-female...whch surprised me as well. I guess I was expecting a crusty old man doling out beer wisdom to all who entered. Not a bad thing, just a surprise.
I didn't have any food, although my friend did and said it was mediocre, or terrible, I can't remember. I can't remember much after the first hour.
In conclusion, the Ginger Man is paradise, a bright and shining gem that must be experienced if any BA comes to Dallas. Do not pass up this opportunity, especially if you are visiting from a state with alcohol limits on the beer you can buy. If that's the case, the majority of the beers on draft here will be new to you. You haven't lived until you've ended the night with an Old Foghorn.

Great selection of beer, both on top and bottled. Love the way the menu is setup, listing draught beers by type and bottled beers by country. Ask the waitress about the seasonal beers they have not listed on the menu and she'll steer you in the right direction. The beer garden atmosphere in the back is hard to be matched in Dallas. The German style pretzels are amazing. Quality place right here.
