Paulista's love their shopping centers. They're huge, keep you out of the rain, and are filled with all sorts of goods. So why not a brewpub inside a shopping mall?
Cervejaria Munique stands out from the other stores as they went above and beyond with their store sign. Lots of tables sit outside the store with additional seating inside. Lots of beer memorabilia decorates the interior though that mall noise is admittingly a little much at times.
Three house beers are available to drink to go along with a few "guest drafts" and 70+ additional bottles (though they claim to have around 120, I only found 70 in the menu). The house beers are pilsner, "dark pilsner", and weissbier. Each one is served in a 260 ml flute-like glass, the weiss being served in a different style of glass but still the same quantity. The pilsner was okay, the "dark pilsner" was too sweet, the weiss is okay. They serve their beers really cold, but that's the Brazilian way of serving beer. The pilsners were R$5.60 a glass, the weiss was around R$6.80.
In addition to the Munique beers, Erdinger weiss and dunkleweiss are available on-tap, bottled/canned beers from Fullers, Paulaner, Oettinger, Samiclaus, Colorado, 8.6, Abbot Ale, Boon, Steenbrugge, and Paulistânia are for sale as well. Gift packs are for sale too.
Service was fairly quick. They got my beers quickly, I was handed a HUGE menu and was directly taken to the beer section when I asked for it. Maybe coming there at 11 am had something to do with it.
Munique is a little bit of a destination for that part of the city. I wouldn't make it a must-stop though, as the house beers are merely okay and a touch expensive to boot, and there are more conveniently located bars with a similar overall selection.
