A CANned beer from CANada in support of The CANQuest(TM)! How bad CAN it be? I suppose that I am about to find out.

My pour resulted in two fingers' worth of tawny head with decent retention. Color was a slightly hazy golden-yellow. Nose was mighty light for the style with a mild honey odor and had the CAN not identified it as "Genuine Pale Ale", I would have defaulted to some innocuous lager. Mouthfeel was medium with a faint wheat-like sweetness on the tongue. A Pale Ale without hops?!? Sacrilege! Finish was just one rung above utterly bland. There was a wheat-like taste that lingered, but just barely. This was boredom in a CAN. No way would I waste valuable cooler space on this non-starter.

Really disappointing for a BC beer. It's got a nasty bite and aftertaste that is really unpleasant. i suppose you get what you pay for but there are better beers out there for similar prices. The overall appearance is fine, the taste is something to forget.

I was thinking that a BC brew would somewhat good. Boy was I misguided. Head disappeared fast but did leave some lacing behind. A touch of honey on the nose. Not much else going on here, pretty bland and deserving of the price and rating. Even notes of honey in the flavor. Not as bad the second time as first advertised.

355 ml can poured in a pint glass. Thanks to my buddy Scott for the beer!

Clear, pale gold in colour. Bright white head is an inch on the pour. Head reduces to a thin cap with spots of lacing here and there. Moderate amount of carbonation streams.

Aroma is very much like your standard macro lager. Grainy with hints of cooked veggies and astringency.

Flavour is not good. Definitely more of a macro lager than a pale ale. Grainy with a noble/floral hop bite that doesn't hold up well. Not balanced by malt at all. It's like they threw a handful of hops in with a macro lager.

Mouthfeel is harsh, acidic and astringent. Thin with an average amount of carbonation for a macro lager.

Not very drinkable at all. I may not finish this one. Avoid.

Translucent light amber in appearance, briefly lived off-white head.

Toasted malt aroma with a bit of leafy hops.

Crisp toasted malt flavour, but it seems flat. The finish is more of a watery non-flavour than anything discernable. Turns out bland in the end.

While the carbonation does lend some body, the overall mouthfeel still sits on a light and watery side.

Tastes like any other macro on the shelf where they've cut corners, although they specifically claim on the can that they didn't do this. I can't say I'm a fan of this stuff, and don't really have anything else positive to say about it, so I'll cut it short here.
