Picked up a 22oz bottle.

A silky viscous pour with a slowly emerging 1 finger foam head made of tiny bubbles that reduce slowly to tiny islands of film across a jet back sea. The film resembles a star filled milky way night sky with decent spotty lace. Dark, dark, java black color with hints of red highlights when held to light.

Smells of complex toasty malts, milk chocolate and espresso, with no burnt malts presence. Hints of green olive, earth and wood smoke. Red licorice with touch of brown sugar sweetness and vanilla.

Tastes of silky dark red fruit with chocolate and espresso smooth malts. Medium bitter chocolate slowly tapers into a dry slightly spicy oak like finish with damp earthy hops. The brew coats the mouth with silky smooth malts and a dry dusty mouth feel that warms up with only a touch of welcoming alcohol.

Overall a silky mouthful of smooth complex malts without a hint of char and a medium to full body balancing an earthy hop presence.

Sampled from a 22oz bottle I picked up in RI and took home to NC.

A - Black with no light and a big tan head. Just what I'd expect from an IS.

S - Coffee and smoke. Powerful but well executed. Some European dark chocolate as well.

T - A very different IS. More roasty, smoky and dry than many. Very interesting. I'm not a coffee drinker but this one strikes me as a fine cup of coffee.

M - Creamy with a well behaved carbonation.

O - A unique and interesting IS. Glad I came across this one.

A - Jet black pour with a nice chocolately head. Simple lacing developed... but certainly a very impressive looking stout.

S -Melted chocolate. A deep, heavy aroma of roasted malts with a hint of hops at the end. Creamy.

T - Nice and full. A very sweet tasting stout, balanced well with a light amount of hops that doesn't upset the heavy handed malt flavor. You could almost drop a scoop of vanilla ice cream in here, and I'm sure it would match perfectly.

M - Very heavy mouthfeel here, feels like just it looks. I'm not a fan of stouts/porters which don't live up to their appearance (The last thing you want out of a stout is a thin, wateriness). And this beer stays thick. Little bit of a lingering aftertaste, but nothing wrong with that.

O - Great stout, without question. The $8 pricetag is a bit much, but know that you're getting a high class stout with Pretty Things. I'd get this again.

A-pours a silky inky black with a thin layer of dark tan head that quickly disappears to leave a ring around the top

S-chocolate malt, vanilla, and roasted dark coffee

T-taste is very very good, similar to the smell with roasted coffee and malt, chocolate, light vanilla, and slight nutty taste

M-full body, creamy, light to medium carbonation

Overall amazing mouthfeel, creamy and thick, I will be drinking this again and again.

Poured from a 22 ounce bottle into a tasting glass. Bottled December 2013.

A: Dark and viscous.

S: Very bitter. Bark and espresso beans. Quite pungent.

T: Mmmmm. Vanilla beans, coffee beans, lightly bitter and astringent. A rich, chewy, herbal, fruity stout. The finish is long, balancedly bitter, and superbly pleasant.

M: Maybe even a mite warm. A little smooth and, not quite flat, but...piquant? Sharp?

O: An exceptional beer. Pretty Things continues to knock it out of the park. Such a good RIS.

This has been a local want for me for a while

A-Jet Black, oily like with a beautiful one finger brown head.

S-Mmmm. Roasted Hazelnut with a well balance smell of Chocolate and roasted Coffee.

T-Fantastic! Nice fudgey like Chocolate. Amazing bitterness from the Coffee. Surprising miz of nuts and dark fruits that complement the rest of the beer.

M-Soft carbonation and the bitterness of the Coffee lingering around my mouth.

O-This Imperial Stout is the real deal and im kicking myself for not looking for it any earlier. Definitively a local hidden jewel and one of the best Imperial Stouts i've had the pleasure to try. Cheers Petty Things! Our Finest Regard has now become my 2nd favorite beer.
