To start, this is a great beer and Pretty Things knows what it is doing and is one of the supreme local beer makers (yes, a million times better than ex-microbrewery Sam Adams). For what this beer is attemption to be, a stronger Saison ale, it succeeds. The only reason for the 4 overall score, this style of beer isnt personally my favorite. The aftertaste is a little rough, not in a pure negative way, but more that it is just a little more than I want. Again, part of this might just be the style. But the feeling I have after having one of these is that it should be something darker and with more brawn. And that is just me being a bit of a snob, or just being unnecessarily harsh. This beer deserves a good amount of credit and it will not disappoint any real beer drinker. Perhaps my only true fault is the price, where at least in Boston you kind of get "bent over" for a 22oz of one of these, whether its in a bar or store. With that being said, making beer is also a business and I get it.
Enjoy this one, I would be surprised if you didnt.

1 PT. 6 FL.. OZ. bottle
Served in a tulip glass
Bottled April 2013
A - It is pale yellow in color and hazy. There are small particles of yeast suspended in it. It is topped with a couple inches of white head.
S - It has a nice fresh lemon scent. I also detect a little must.
T - The taste has some lemon and grass flavors. Then some bitterness sets in. At first I thought the bitterness was too much for this beer, but after half a bottle the flavors are meshing well.
M - Medium.
O - This is a refreshing saison. It hits the spot after working in a near 90° day. The bitterness is more than I care for in this style, but it is not overwhelming and compliments the lemon and must, so I won't complain.
