A - Arrived in a tall tulip-style glass with a couple fingers of bubbly head. Good retention with light but consistent lacing. Vibrant carbonation streams from the center of the glass. The beer is a deep gold and quite clear.
S - Bubblegum sweetness, and the character that I associate with Belgian yeast.
T - Follows the nose. The sweetness is there, as is the yeast character. The flavors are sharp and distinct. Not muted and heavy. I like the light, airy qualities of the flavors. Didn't realize that the alcohol contact was 8.5% It is very well hidden.
M - Medium-light bodied and very dry. Slight astringency on the tongue. Big fan of these light tripels. The heavy ones don't do much for me.
O - I think this one compares very favorably to some of the top-rated tripels that I've tried. Not sure if it's a deviation from the style or not, but it tastes more like a Belgian Golden Ale that I've really enjoyed then the Tripels that I typically shy away from.
