Poured from the bomber into a tulip. Hazy golden yellow color. About one inch of white head, very little lacing.
Smell is quite strong, and quite pleasant. Banana and some other generic fruitiness. There's some coriander as well, giving this an almost hefeweizen type smell. Some citrus hops are present as well, and mix in nicely.
Taste is also quite fruity. Lots of banana. The hops are more present now, but come across as herbal and earthy with the citrus less of a factor. Finish has a pretty strong spiciness to it.
Body is on the thin side, but doesn't bother me at all. Finish is dry fro the style, but I prefer that anyways. There is some warming as it goes down, hinting at the 8.5% but not detracting too much from the overall score. Not my favorite PT beer, and certainly not the best tripel, but well worth seeking out this interesting take on the style.
