22 oz bottle dated May 2012, poured into SA perfect pint.
Aroma: earthy, light spices, very light citrus lemon or orange. Malt backbone is strong.
Appearance: deep golden amber color, couple fingers of white foamy head that dissipated quickly to a thin layer ringing the glass. Nothing remarkable in terms of lacing.
Flavor: seems to be a lot going on, but very nice. The aromatics come through. Get a earthy spice flavor...rosemary and a touch of licorice/clove. A nice touch of citrus, more lemon than anything, not overpowering. Definitely get flavor of the different grains used. Oats come through, wheat balances, rye gives it a kick. Malt sweetness that does not dominate. A little yeasty flavor present. Develops a distinct banana flavor as it warms.
Mouthfeel: lively on the carbonation, very dry on the finish, clean. Minimal bitter that doesn't linger much. Clean, maybe a bit of a peppery feel.
Overall I enjoyed this beer. Complex flavors that I don't find muddy or confused at all. Refreshing. Liked the little tingle from the carbonation and the licorice-like flavor. One I will go back and try fresher, but very tasty with a year-plus on the clock.

Poured from bottle into Pretty Things globe/tulip.
Golden amber color with a finger of white head. Nice peppery and slight citrusy saison aromas. Flavors of peppery saison and rye up front with a big malty bready and rye finish. Fairly hopped - spicy saaz like hops maybe? Full malty mouthfeel - maybe a bit heavy but its pleasant. Overall, this is a really nice classic saison. Very enjoyable.
