Taken me a while to get down to CBX, and I was not disappointed. Easily the best place to find Belgian beers in S.C. as their assortment was staggering. Picked up some De Dolle Special Reserva and Pannepot and could have gone for quite a few others I had not seen in this S.C. Also had a good selection of New Belgium specialty brews like La Folie, etc.; and also some rarer German brews.

Pretty easy to find place, right down Broad Street. Friendly and knowledgeable service. Easy place to blow some money on some of the rarer brews (not that there's anything wrong with that). The place is as big as a closet and a half and still has the most unique selection of foreign brews in S.C., if not the entire South.

Only wish they had more hard-to-find Coast brews, but that is always a challenge. What, no shelf full of Coast barrell-aged Blackbeerd? ;-)

A must visit for any beer junkie in the area. I hope to visit again soon.

Really great bottle shop that is well stocked with both beer and knowledgeable, friendly staff. I stopped in during a recent trip to Charleston and bought a bunch of beers that I can't get back home. Some of my favorite finds were: Tilquin gueuze, a couple Jolly Pumpkins, and a Rodenbach Caractere Rouge.

Fantastic selection, great staff, very good at what they do. A staple in the SC beer community and a must visit.

Charleston Beer Exchange is a tiny little shop on a side street that I nearly stumbled past until a friend pointed it out. The building looks like one of the first built in the city and a small square sign let's you know where you are. Although the store is small there's not a foot of wasted space. A shelf of NC/SC locals is the first to greet you as you enter. Past that is a small 5 or 6 tap growler station then the bank of coolers, 5 or 6 doors. The rest of Americas offerings are followed by Scandinavian, Belgian, German, English, and other imports in a small aisle.

As I said, there couldn't be better use of the space. The options are plentiful and the staff is quick to lend tips and thoughts, holding nothing back. The staff is helpful and fun to talk to. The prices are right in line with other places I stopped on my travels. The seasonal selection was stacked. I was very happy with my stop in, especially after hearing so much about them in the past, it lived up to expectations. Highly recommended.
