Sabor: Sabor ahumado, intenso. Acidez propia de las maltas tostadas. Notas chocolate, café, frutos oscuros. Retrogusto a chocolate y frutas bastante agradable.

Good porter with a strong taste of treacle and roasted malts. Very light in mouth.
Do not reinvent the style but quite drinkable.

I have been to the great country of Uruguay, and I did plenty of drinking while int the country. I had this at a bar in Montevideo, and on tap. Served in a plain clear chalice type glass the beer was obviously a dark brown as it is a porter, but It had a heavy almost blackish hue. The smell was not extremely present nor complex, but still decent. I tasted light hints of caramel or chocolates, sweet, but not lingering, and easy enough mouth-feel, and drink-ability. Overall this is a beer I would like having again, In Uruguay or in America.

Poured from 300mL bottle into a goblet.
Appearance: very dark, rich brown; not quite black. Body is free of haze. Head is a finger of frothy tan foam with a not-so-great retention. Not bad; more of an English-looking porter.
Smell: caramel malt aroma with a hint of chocolatey roast. More like a super-dark Munich lager than a porter, but still quite good.
Taste: caramelly and roasty with a hint of chocolate. Unfortunately, there's also a hint of plastic in there; not sure what is up with this. It comes through too strong for the beer to be really enjoyable, but too weak to really make it undrinkable. So the beer is OK, but not so great.
Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a great level of well-integrated carbonation. I actually really like the mouthfeel.
Overall: this beer is not too bad. It has a lot of things going for it, but for one kind-of major flavor flaw. Could just be the bottle; I look forward to trying this again. Unfortunately, I've only seen it for sale here in Mexico.

300ml bottle poured into pint glass 29/8/12
A dark cola with some ruby highlights when held too the light, short lived beige finger of foam leaves a few random patches of lace
S burnt brown sugar, molasses, faint coffee, and just a little licorice, smells decent but a little sweet
T some cola and its a little nutty compared to the smell, again its pretty basic but tastes decent
M a little thin in this department but has a good level of carbonation too give it some life, quite sticky on the lips
O its a basic porter but at least it has some flavor unlike most of the beers I´ve come across in Mexico
perhaps I´m being a little generous due to my complete lack of decent beers this week in PV. its pretty basic but quite drinkable compared too what I´ve been forced to drink this week

The best Uruguayan porter that I have enjoyed while in Mexico?
Looks very promising, clear and dark with hint of amber highlights. Decent mocha head and pleasant carbonation.
Unfortunately there is almost no aroma, and the taste is far less inspiring than hoped. Hints of coffee and subtle roasted malts, with a warming alcohol finish.
Not offensive, but overall a weak porter.

Kudo's to Chris for hooking this up.
A - Dark brown, decent looking porter. Brownish head that rose up, not much in the way of retention, little bit of stick.
S - Smells pretty sweet, lighter, definately has that South American quality to it that I just can't quite put a finger on. Malty.
T - Really sweet, kind of thin, but not bad. It's a pretty light tasting porter, although one of the better south-of-the-border beers I've had.
M - Thin for the style, little water, moderate carbonation.
D - This is easy to get down, it's not horrible, but definately not great.
