Corked 750ml bottle into augustijn chalice
A - a honey amber colour merging on red side; almost like a tea colour. big heat forms with pouring but very very quickly dies down into a small solid layer. I have never seen a quad so light in colour, though this colour is quite intriguing.
S - the nose is very potent, I don't even need to hold my nose up to it. malt is the big player, as usual, but there is also some very sweet berry scent, like sweet black berries. some trace spiciness in the waaay back. at times there is bubblegum smell mixed in with the sweet berries, but it is very elusive. what the nose doesn't have in complexity, it makes up for in strength.
T - i'm not terribly impressed with the taste. no doubt that is is a good beer, but it isn't holding well against its belgian brothers. the initial taste is spicy, a bit boozy (depends on how long you hold it in mouth), malty and hints of sweetness. the more the beer warms up, the stronger the alcohol profile the finish sees the alcohol come out full blast, followed by a small burst of malty sweetnes; alcohol is very dry and borders on burning. the finish is boozy sweet, as the malts eventually cover up the warm alcohol taste.
MF&D - im not crazy about this beer. the feel was a bit thin for the style, though it was fitting for the lightness that this beer has, nothing big and pushy about it. the feel is a bit off-putting, I want my quads to be big and hearty, not this light coloured stuff.
this is one beer that you definitely want to age.

13oz draft pour at bier markt mississauga
a: deep orange/amber hue with half a finger of head
s: huge banana and vanilla up front, great stuff. hints of maraschino cherries. alcohol is present
t: a melange of bananas, maraschino cherries, and vanilla to begin with. it's sweet all around but not offensively so. nice! but what i dislike here is the alcohol presence -- it's rather strong and makes the entire tasting feel medicinal. light spice on the back-end. dry finish
m: medium body, medium carbonation
o: this beer has a lovely aroma but the flavours are all ruined by the alcohol strength

Summer night in Sweden with a 750 ml bottle in the garden. This is love.
Do think the big bottle has much more taste and nose
If you want this and if you are in Scandinavia do make a stop in Denmark were the price is "very low" ~ 5 USD at most supermarkets.
