Picked this up a while back at Top Hops in New York. Haven't had anything from this Brewery and I hadn't had any Quadrupel's in quite some time either. As so many others have alluded to on here, this was deceptively easy to drink and didn't feel like it was 10% until I polished off the bottle. The flavors worked well together and this wasn't as dark and spicy as I would have anticipated, leading it to be much more easily drinkable than other beers of this style!
Nice pour to this, as the liquid had a almond and plum combination hue to it, with a frothy head and some flaky sediment that floated around in it. Not a lot of lacing but there were a few nice rings around the middle of my pint glass when all was said and done. The booze could only be felt in the aroma, along with some banana and dark fruit flavors like raisin and plum. Once I gave this a sip, everything went up a notch and the alcohol became more recessed. The cherry notes were more apparent in the taste, as this had a somewhat syrupy mouthfeel to it with a hint of slickness that lingered well into the aftertaste. While not as potent as cough medicine, this beer had the feel of it but only warmed me up a notch.
With a good balance of yeast, flavors, carbonation (just a tad present) and booze, this was everything that I could ask for in a Quad. Easily enjoyable from start to finish, there was a lot to enjoy here without feeling cluttered and heavy. A must-try for any Belgian beer aficionado and something that I'll be looking out for again. Just a notch below the best of this style but more than easily holds it's own regardless.

APPEARANCE - Clear dark orange with a light brown 5-finger head that lasts.
SMELL/AROMA/SCENT - Sweet, but not much aroma overall.
TASTE - Brown sugar, very Belgian, very sweet. Herbaceous, piney. ABV not too well hidden.
MOUTHFEEL/PALATE/TEXTURE - Beer is light, well-carbonated, with a pleasantly creamy head.
VALUE - $10. - About average for a Belgian at a bar.
OVERALL/DRINKABILITY - Very light and well-carbonated for a Belgian quad. Would be nicer if ABV were well-hidden.
