This scintillating golden ale boasts a rich, fruity, and fresh aroma. And a light malty and sweet taste. It has a soft bitterness with a friendly aftertaste. A well-balanced blend of complexity and simplicity. La Trappe Blond continues to ferment in the bottle.

The only Dutch Trappist and one of the best beers Holland has to offer. The first zip can be slightly overwhelming but then the mildness kicks in and the dry herbs give such a pleasant scent and show just how well balance this Dutch beer is. Yes, La Trappe is the prove that the Dutch are related to Belgians. It's right up to par with some of the best Belgian Pale Ale style brews like Brugse Zot and Duvel 6,66.

Been drinking a lot of blondes while in Amsterdam. This is one of the better ones. Subtle, drinkable, easy. Light yeast character, a bit funky, yet crushable.

Decent blond. Pours dark gold, head disappears quickly, mild carbonation. Classic notes of yeast and banana. Taste follows nose with minor spice. Lager crispness? Decent.

March 2002: This was my first Trappist ale, surely most of the others must be better?? Well, it's not a bad sipping beer, but I expected so much more. Lovely aroma when you open the bottle, diminishes considerably in the glass. I started drinking it too cold, but it didn't improve much as it warmed up. Sweetish aftertaste. Maybe I would have liked it more with a solid meal? Definitely not worth the price.

Pours a clear golden color with a medium top off white head that dissolves quickly.
Aroma is of banana, honey, citrus, yeast and spices. The taste is dry with fruity notes and yeasty spice notes. The finish has some slight bitterness but is a little flat. Mouthfeel is soft and smooth with a medium carbonation and a medium body.
A nice, simple and easy driniking blonde ale.
